INSTITUTIONAL STUDENT LOUNGE

This was a Complete renovation of the St. James Campus Student Lounge, including washrooms & kitchen area.

This was a complex project due to the tight schedule, ongoing classes, public access and intricate finishes.  Extensive hoarding was required in order to keep students and the general public safe from the construction area.  Full height, fire rated hoarding was required around the entire project, while still maintaining temporary access to eateries and certain other areas.  Much of the work needed to be completed after hours in order to meet the rigid schedule.  There were challenges to be overcome due to kitchen equipment, stainless steel cabinets, AV equipment, and complicated ceiling finishes, including acoustic wood ceiling, drywall and ceiling tiles.
